Reflection Fuels Your Progress

Reflection Fuels Your Progress

Congratulations, you’ve taken the hardest step. You’ve signed up.

We’re STRIVE, mindset partner of Long Course Weekend, and over the next two months we’ll be sharing simple mindset tools to help you shape the experience you want on event weekend.

The build-up to your first event is a mix of excitement and nerves. That’s normal. In fact, it’s a sign you’re doing something that matters. Because stepping into the unknown? That’s where change happens.

This Month’s Focus: The Power of Reflection

One of the most underrated tools for progress? Reflection.

Why It Matters

If you don’t reflect, you miss the wins. The small moments that prove you’re improving. The evidence
that you’re getting stronger.
Without pausing to look back, at what’s working and what’s not, you lose the chance to adjust and
move forward with intent.
That’s when frustration creeps in. It feels like you’re stuck… even when you’re not.
You are progressing. Reflection helps you see it.

How to Do More of It

Make it a habit.

Once a week. That’s it. Treat it like any other session, non-negotiable.

Look back on your week:

  • What went well?
  • What didn’t?
  • What will you do differently?

Take those answers into the next week. That’s how progress builds.

Your brain needs evidence. Reflection gives it proof that this is working.
Every athlete you admire has built success through small, consistent actions. Reflection is what turns
those actions into results.

It shifts you out of self-criticism and into problem-solving.

  • Less beating yourself up.
  • More getting curious.
  • More moving forward.

You don’t need to do more. You need to notice more.
Want it more than you fear it.
